History of the Power Hopper Topper
The Power Hopper Topper was conceived from the marriage of frustration and inspiration.
The frustration was the result of a John Deere S680 power folding hopper that was smaller than advertised, and smaller than what we had been used to on previous John Deere combines.
The inspiration came around 2am on October 21, 2012, during one of many rain delays during harvest 2012 in Indiana. By noon that day a ‘preprototype’ extension was in place which we ran successfully for a couple of days until the next rain delay.
This delay allowed the opportunity to develop a more refined prototype that we ran successfully for the balance of harvest 2012.
The combination of the extra 50 bu capacity of the prototype extension and the convenience of the power folding hopper was very satisfying!!!!
After several positive responses to postings I made on the Combine Forum and Agtalk about the viability of an extension kit for the S680/690 & S780/790, the prototype has been developed into the Power Hopper Topper Extension Kit that is now for sale through this website. The 75bu and 150 bu kits for the S660/670 & S760/770 and the 100 bu kit for the S680/690 & S780/790 have also been added to the lineup.
I want to thank the customers of almost 11000 extension kits that were sold during the past 12 years. I want to thank those customers that sent me pictures of the Power Hopper Topper in action, along with the customers who sent written messages of appreciation for the kits.
I'm also happy to report that no kits were sent back for refunds because of disatisfaction with the kits performance!!!!
